Mr. Paul Maniscalco is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at George
Washington University, School of Medicine and Health Sciences,
and a Deputy Chief, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services for a
large urban EMS system.
Chief Maniscalco has over twenty years of emergency response and
management experience as a senior Paramedic and Public Safety
instructor. He has published numerous articles and book chapters
and lectures extensively on EMS-related issues. He is the co-author
of the textbook, The EMS Incident Management System - EMS Operations
for Mass Casualty and High Impact Incidents and the forthcoming
book, Understanding Terrorism and Managing it's Consequences.
Chief Maniscalco is an adjunct faculty member of the National
Emergency Training Center and the National Fire Academy. He has
consulted with many federal agencies and organizations on issues
related to the response and management of emergency incidents,
disaster and terrorism, as well as pre-hospital care and safety.
Chief Maniscalco is also a Past President of the National Association
of Emergency Medical Technicians.
