Dr. Lawrence J. Leventhal is the chief of the Rheumatology
Division for the Graduate Hospital Department of Medicine in Philadelphia,
PA. He received his B.A. from Brandeis University, his M.D. from Hahnemann
University, and completed his residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
He completed his fellowship training in rheumatology at the University
of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Dr. Leventhal is an associate professor of Medicine at
MCP/Hahnemann University of the Health Sciences and is a Fellow of the
American College of Physicians, American College of Rheumatology, and Philadelphia
College of Physicians. As a principal and co-investigator on numerous research
grants, Dr. Leventhal has authored more than 30 medical articles and scientific
abstracts, co-authored 3 text book chapters, received 2 Arthritis Foundation
scholarships, and lectured extensively on musculoskeletal disease, both
regionally and nationally.
His administrative appointments have included President
of the Philadelphia Rheumatism Society and the Executive Board of the Eastern
Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Additionally, Dr. Leventhal
is on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology,and
is listed in The Best Doctors in America, Who’s Who in America,
and Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
