Dr. Jennifer Johnson is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics
at the University of California, Irvine and Director of the Adolescent
Medicine Program at that institution. She is a pediatrician who is also
board-certified in the subspecialty of adolescent medicine. Currently
Dr. Johnson is the Chair of the Section on Adolescent Health of the American
Academy of Pediatrics.
A native of northern California, Dr. Johnson received
her undergraduate degree at Stanford University, followed by a medical
degree from the University of Muenster in Germany. She trained in pediatrics
at Vanderbilt University, and took her adolescent medicine fellowship under
Dr. Marianne Felice at the University of California, San Diego. While on
faculty at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Dr. Johnson
earned a Master's of Science degree in Biostatistics and Epidemiology.
Dr. Johnson's research interests focus on adolescent sexual
behavior and decision-making, and on the related problems of adolescent
pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
