One contact can correct for distance while the other does close-up

In a technique using "monovision," people may have one eye corrected for distance while the other eye is corrected for reading. This is also called "blended vision" and can be accomplished only with contact lenses or through the use of surgical procedures like conductive keratoplasty (CK) or laser (LASIK) surgery. This is a new way of addressing vision problems without glasses. Initially, monovision can produce a feeling of imbalance or a change in depth perception. But over time the brain adjusts and it becomes quite natural and comfortable.
